| Architecture The NewsWare data center was designed to provide maximum speed and reliability. Our data center is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Incoming news feeds are monitored by a sophisticated system which alerts the operators if a news feed is interrupted or a news file does not arrive on time. Our server farm is composed of multiple servers with dual Pentium processors and enough gigabytes of disk space to store and index every news story we receive (over 60,000 stories a day and growing) for as long as the vendor will allow, in most cases this means 90 days of news history. The server farm is configured for fault tolerance so that even multiple equipment failures will not affect our ability to deliver all the news to our customers, both for real-time alerting and full historical searches. The servers in the server farm, and the software components running on them, are all monitored continuously by our control programs and the operations staff will be notified immediately in the event of any problems. Whether you are a NewsWatch or API client you simply connect to our data center via dedicated phone line or the Internet and we take care of everything. You don't have to worry about purchasing and maintaining expensive servers. The only hardware at your site is a modem and a router, two of the most reliable devices in modern network design. Our communications experts will work with you to design the most robust methods to connect your users with our data center, perhaps utilizing multiple independent communication paths to insure minimum downtime.
