The NewsAPI custom OCX provides support for interfacing to the
NewsWare server. Included with the software is a complete programmer's
reference manual.

The NewsAPI provides methods, properties and events which allow a high
level interface to all of the functionality of the NewsWare service.
Integration of the NewsWare facilities into a customized display
environment is possible without concern for the internal workings of
the NewsWare communications and data protocols.

Using this control, the designer dictates at a high level the server
to connect to, the User ID and Password. Similarly, the designer only
need provide simply defined requests for alerts to be established,
queries to be performed or portfolios to be supplied with quotation
information. Additional support exists for accessing 3rd Party gateway
services available from NewsWare.
